BOODY BAMBOO BASICS
Fithealth Nutrition is proud to introduce Boody Eco Wear to its store in Bentons Square.
Boody was born in 2011 along the beautiful eastern beaches of Sydney, Australia.
Conceptualised by two best friends who combined their passions for fashion and health to create an eco clothing brand with comfort, style and health at its core.
Today, Boody is available around the world, with a shared aspiration to make our customers look and feel good. We want to bring you a true sensory experience in your everyday essentials, using natural materials that are in greater harmony with the planet.
We’ve anchored ourselves in the heart of Sydney to stay close to our roots. Our passion for people and the environment inspires us in everything we do. Our small team takes pride in making customers a priority and listening to your feedback is essential to us.
We’re continually on the lookout to design new and innovative everyday essentials to meet the needs of our environmentally aware and health conscious customers who enjoy affordable luxury that doesn’t cost the earth.
At Boody, we’ve learned that bamboo is a miracle fibre. Naturally eco-friendly, wonderful to wear, resilient, superbly soft and healthy for even the most sensitive skin – in our opinion it outruns all traditional and new fibres, natural and synthetic. That’s why we’re so proud of the Boody range.
THE CHOICE FOR SUSTAINABILITY
No pesticides. No insecticides. No fertilisers. Ok, we're off to a good start...
Grown without artificial irrigation
Producing commercial harvests of bamboo requires only rainwater. What’s more, all water used in the production process is recycled and re-used.
Improving air quality
Bamboo plantations produce 30% more oxygen than an equivalent area of trees and absorb more carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases.
Fast growing, regenerating
The fastest growing woody plant in the world, some species of bamboo shoot up as much as one metre a day! New stems are able to be harvested again and again. Honestly, try to wrap your mind around that.
THE CHOICE FOR HEALTH
Anti-bacterial & anti-fungal
Bamboo contains an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal bio-agent which is retained through the process of fabrication and after washing many, many times. This property also makes Boody garments odour-resistant. Sounds good... and smells good.
Particularly suitable for eczema suffers and those with extra sensitive skin.
Breathable & moisture-wicking
The structure of the bamboo fibres contains micro-gaps, which provide ventilation and pull moisture away from the body, allowing the skin to breathe.
THE CHOICE FOR COMFORT
Light, luxuriously soft and gentle on the skin, bamboo is a dream to wear.
Cosy in winter, cool in summer, Boody garments provide warmth without bulk. Great for exercise in all conditions.
A neutral charge prevents static build-up, preventing clinging.
HOW WE CREATE BOODY
Our bamboo is grown without fertilizers or pesticides and no irrigation, only rain water.
First, the green shoots are cut into chunks of raw bamboo.2. HARVEST
Next, the bamboo is soaked in a solution to soften it. The system is closed loop - all liquid is recycled and all solvents are captured and removed to ensure that the process is as eco-friendly as the bamboo itself.3. PROCESS
The dehydration process allows us to extract the bamboo pulp that is then dried into flat sheets.4. DEHYDRATE
When the bamboo sheets are completely dry, they are ground into a soft, feathery material.5. GRIND
The soft, feathery material is then extruded and spun into a viscose yarn that we use to knit our garments. The garments are knitted in tubes resulting in very little fabric wastage compared to traditional cut and sew garment manufacturing which wastes up to 20% more fabric (excludes our t-shirts and baby garments which are cut and sew).6. SEW
The end result is a naturally luxurious fabric that's silky soft and feels fabulous to wear.7. YOUR BOODY!
