Fithealth Ambassador Craig Vickers
Note from Fithealth:
Craig's daughter was diagnosed with Autism in 2016, and has sparked the Autism Awareness Challenge. He is raising money for a Not-For-Profit Foundation Called AMAZE. Amaze aims to create an inclusive society that offers every autistic person the opportunity to meaningfully participate and contribute. We do this by raising awareness and influencing positive change among educators, the government and the wider community. Craig was inspired by work they do and the support they offer to families, and he wanted to return the favour. Craig decided to do an Ironman to help raise awaness and smash the stigma around Autism. The more people that know about AMAZE, then the more lives they can positively impact.

My name is Craig Vickers I am a 36 year old male from the Mornington Peninsula.
Growing up i lacked confidence and was not in great shape. I started running to help with this and got hooked and 20 years and 20 marathons later i am still loving it and running faster than i ever have before.
In the last few years i have started coaching other runners to help them achieve there goals and watch them fall in love with running too. In the last few years i have found a new love Triathlon, while i am not a great swimmer i am just happy to get out of the water i love the sport and the lifestyle around it.
The Ironman Triathlon has always been a bucket list goal of mine as i feel its the holy grail for endurance athletes with a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and a marathon to finish.
I am a very lucky man to have a supportive partner and family who support me while training and racing these events, This year has been a tough on us as my amazing 3 year old girl was diagnosed with autism not to long ago.
So i have decided to do a Ironman to raise awareness for Autism and raise funds for Amaze.
Sarah and the crew at Fithealth Nutrition have always looked after me with my nutrition needs and when they found out about this challenge where the first to jump on board to offer help keeping me hydrated and refuelled during training and racing.
Sarah has been such a great help during this challenging time with some great insight into kids with autism and can not thank her enough.
I am looking forward to this challenge and hope to share all the ups and downs of training and raising a kid with autism along the way.
