Norwegian Pure Omega 3 Capsules

The premium quality Norwegian Pure Omega 3 is a double strength, molecular distilled, odourless fish oil concentrate. Combined with phospholipids, the oil may assist with joint, heart, brain and eye health.

The oil concentrate is sourced from Omega 3 rich, small wild fish and are sustainably harvested in accordance to the IFFO RS standards and with ‘Friends of the Sea’ certification.  Strict catch limits are set each year based on the available amount of fish, not on the demand for fish oil, ensuring minimal risk of species endangerment.

The high concentrate Omega-3 oil is purified by molecular distillation in GC Rieber’s state of the art refining facility, removing heavy metals and contaminants.  GC Rieber oils are HACCP method certified and operate in accordance with EU hygiene regulation, which require that all fish caught must be fit for human consumption, be processed within 24 hours and kept chilled.  This guarantees product freshness.

Encapsulated in an easy to swallow, natural vanilla flavoured capsule. Our Norwegian Pure Omega 3 capsules contain twice the amount of active components found in a standard fish oil capsule with the addition of phospholipids (lecithin) to assist with absorption.

The modern western diet is typically high in Omega 6 and this can lead to an imbalance in the ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 in the body. A diet too high in Omega-6 is detrimental to ones health and will stimulate inflammatory processes in the body due to an excess production of arachidonic acid.  Arachidonic acid encourages inflammation by producing the pro-inflammatory series 2 prostaglandins (PGE2).  Increasing the amount of Omega-3 fats in the diet can help return balance to this ratio and have an anti-inflammatory effect in the body through the production of the anti-inflammatory series 3 prostaglandins (PGE3). DHA is the primary structural component of your retina and brain.  A diet high in Omega-6 can lead to a deficiency in DHA.  DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and helps to maintain overall eye health.

EPA is the precursor of DHA and is best known for its anti-inflammatory properties.  EPA inhibits the enzyme responsible for producing arachidonic acid, the precursor to the pro-inflammatory prostaglandin PGE2.

Phospholipids (Lecithin):

Lecithin is a combination of 3 naturally occurring phospholipids and is a natural emulsifier.  Clinical trials have shown enhanced absorption of EPA and DHA from emulsified fish oils compared to straight capsular triglyceride from fish oil.

Lecithin is also an excellent source of choline.  Choline supports liver health and function, healthy fat metabolism and is important for a healthy nervous system.
